Let It Rain, Let It Rain, Let It Rain
Oh the weather outside is weather. And on Saturday at Wintergreen Farms, that meant a torrential downpour as we chopped down our Christmas tree.
I probably enjoyed myself the most, frolicking through puddles and snapping photos. I was clearly doing the least amount of work, though, which may have had something to do with it.
We fell in love with one that was the perfect size for our new apartment, but after further inspection realized it was dead on the inside (not its soul; just the needles). Blame it on wanting to get out of the rain, or a lifetime of watching A Charlie Brown Christmas, but we ended up getting a little runt of a tree instead. Regardless of its size, we love it all the same (or maybe feel the need to after the hour drive, soaked clothes and $60).
After setting our little tree up until the wee hours of the morning, we finally got to decorating on Sunday with the help of some Schlafly Christmas Ale and Frank Sinatra Christmas music.
Here’s to the first of the next few Christmasy weekends.
